RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/GameDevJax/events/224116041/

This is another session in an ongoing series of bi-weekly workshops.

From this series of workshops, you will learn to go from “never made a game in my life, never coded before” to knowing how to make retro-styled games, action platformers, and RPGs for Xbox One and other platforms (using GameMaker: Studio for cross-platform development).

In this session, you will learn to make a space shooter game.

Requirements: This is a semi-follow-along workshop, so you’ll need a somewhat current laptop running Windows Vista or better (mac is not supported by GMS). You’ll need to download some software and have it installed and ready the day of the event. An email will be sent out a week prior to the event with instructions for all the stuff you’ll need to download/install. All of the software is free or free “with upgrades available”, so you won’t have any out-of-pocket software costs.

Limits: There are only 16 seats available, so only RSVP if you can absolutely commit to attending, and if you actually need help making a space shooter game. If you already know how to make a game like this, please leave the seat for someone who will benefit more from the workshop.
